At this Congress Lake property, the waterfront plan brought boat access and drainage improvements together. Making that possible meant carefully managing water run-off through the property.
AquaLife adjusted the existing drainage layout to accommodate the new boat port and guide water run-off toward the lake. A long seawall defines the new shoreline, with a boardwalk connecting the dock fingers and two recessed berths.
Drainage from the home was rerouted, and new drainage and outlets were installed along the entire seawall. The drainage improvements, stone, boulders and seawall had to work together to guide water run-off and protect the surrounding work.

A bigger picture
at the shoreline.
The original boat port and drainage outlet occupied the areas needed for a different waterfront layout. The plan coordinated the new boat access with improvements to the route of water run-off.
02 / MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
A new course.
Carefully controlled.
AquaLife carefully placed stone and boulders alongside the seawall to guide water run-off along the planned drainage route and protect the new work.
That work extended beyond the visible channel. Drainage from the home was rerouted, while new drainage and outlets were installed along the full seawall. Managing how water reached the lake was central to the construction sequence.
