A continuous WearDeck boardwalk connects the property to the docks, with picture-framed edges, cable railing and lighting that follows the waterfront.

MORE THAN A WALKING SURFACE

A new route.
A different footprint.

Moving the boardwalk inland changed what had to happen beneath it.

The original design extended out over the existing concrete seawall. After the design was revised, the boardwalk moved onto the land. AquaLife excavated the sloping ground and hauled soil away by barge to prepare a level route along the shoreline.

The work also involved relocating electrical and plumbing lines, moving fencing and adding framing. A built-in box houses the aeration system’s water pump, bringing a practical piece of equipment into the boardwalk layout.

Built around the site.

WearDeck structural members form the framework, with tan decking and a dark picture-frame border defining the walking surface. The boardwalk and projecting finger provide connected access alongside the boats.

THE FINISHING WORK

Defined edges.
Open lake views.

The KeyLink cable-railing installation brings dark posts and horizontal stainless-steel cables to the shore-side connection. Its lines complement the boardwalk’s dark border while retaining views across Mud Lake.

The wider project included a Wave Armor kayak launch and rack, an AquaSweep installation, and a water outlet relocated into a dock post near the kayak area.

Deck, side and post-cap lights trace the route along the shore. Photographed in the early morning, the finished boardwalk shows how the lighting becomes part of the design when daylight is low.
